Welcome to our January FibreTrace resource webinar, "The Traceability of Australian Merino Wool.”

This session will include a dynamic discussion focused on the innovative strides being made in the traceability of Australian Merino wool.

The webinar will offer insight into unique wool programs, and other special initiatives being led by Australian wool growers that should be celebrated across the textile industry.

Mike Yu – R&T industries

Mike Yu is experienced in managing yarn sales for the largest coloured yarn company globally, with a focus on operations in Vietnam. He is also skilled in the areas of cotton and wool yarns, as well as fabric products.

Mike possesses a comprehensive understanding and substantial resources within the yarn and fabric supply chain in Vietnam, ensuring effective market navigation and solution delivery in the textile sector.

Mark Dunstan – Michell Wool

Mark Dunstan has vast knowledge of the wool industry with over 25 years of experience in various aspects of wool processing. He started his career as a Machine operator at Michell Wool, the oldest Australian wool company, and progressed through many different roles, such as Top Making, Superwashing, Carbonisation, Projects and the past 12 years Operations Manager.

Mark is passionate about innovation and developing new wool products that are unique and distinctive. He has been leading the R&D at Michell for over 15 years, and recently became the full-time Innovation Manager of Michell Wool, with the sole aim to create wool products that are unconventional and original.

Charlie Jin – New Chuwa

Zhejiang New Chuwa Wool Co.,Ltd. was established in 2003, as a subsidiary of Zhejiang Xinao Textiles Inc.

Since its establishment, New Chuwa has invested heavily in both equipment and technology and has grown significantly to become one of the world's leading wool top-makers today.

Based upon their five combing lines they have an annual output of 12,000 tons wool tops. They also have 35 years experience in chemical processing of wool tops. The annual chemical processing capacity is over 15,000 tons of treated wool.

Today, New Chuwa can provide treated wool tops with high quality in terms of performance, hand feeling and colour.
